Saara
Yoga originally came into Saara's life over 15 years ago to bring well-being to her hectic everyday life. The yoga mat is still a place for her to relax and be in the moment.
Saara completed her first 200h yoga instructor training with Africa Yoga Project in Nairobi, Kenya in 2017 while living in East Africa. After returning to Finland, she trained as a massage therapist and founded her own company, Kipekee. In 2021, she decided to renew her own yoga practice and joined the Roots to Rise 200h instructor training.
Saara uses all the knowledge and experience she has from yoga and other areas as a teacher. As a trained massage therapist, she brings with her a wide knowledge of anatomy and movement that is good for the body. She has a background in dance and an artistic nature that enjoys creativity and the freedom to flow, which is why the classes are mainly based on Vinyasa Flow type yoga.

Maija
Maija is a mother of three from Kulosaari who graduated as a yoga teacher from Heartful Yoga Academy in 2022. Yoga has been a part of her life for almost 20 years and has been a grounding tool alongside the other hustle and bustle and changes of life and everyday life.
Maija herself likes gentle, whole-body-opening movements that focus on moving in sync with her breathing. She also uses a lot of imagery training in yoga alongside movement.
Maija is particularly inspired and calmed by nature, observing and sensing it, in her own life, and she strives to go into the wild whenever possible.
Maija feels that yoga is always a moment for self, and gives the opportunity to stop and just be without obligations and performance, thereby restoring and strengthening the connection between mind and body. The most important thing is to get to the mat, there is nothing else to think about!

Hilkka
Hilkka has been on the path of yoga for almost 30 years. For her, yoga is above all a place to stop and be present – a moment to listen to her body and mind. Over the years, she has practiced Ashtanga and Hatha, and in recent years, Yin Yoga in particular has found a permanent place in her heart.

Hilkka has trained as a Yin Yoga teacher and a yoga teacher for special groups. The training has deepened her understanding of individual guidance, asana modification and the use of aids. In addition, Hilkka is a trained sports masseuse, which brings valuable anatomical insight to bodywork.
Alongside yoga, Hilkka has been passionate about breathwork. She has trained as a breathing coach and guides gentle breathing exercises in Yin classes as well as in separate breathing workshops and breathwork trips.

Hilkka uses all of her expertise in her classes – her diverse background in yoga, breath work and understanding of bodywork. Her classes allow you to stop, breathe and recover – just as you are.

Meri
Meri is a yoga instructor and practitioner who draws from her Ashtanga background, branching out into the more peaceful Yin or strengthening direction of Pilates depending on the class. She has studied Ashtanga for two decades in Helsinki and California and is still amazed at the potential deep healing qualities of the practice.
Meri also teaches postpartum and pregnancy classes for moms at various yoga studios.
She is a nurse by training and holds a master's degree in East Asian Studies, and you can often find her studying or translating various texts.
Meri has over 15 years of experience practicing zen-meditation, and some classes also allow you to try quiet meditation at the end of the class.

Virpi
Virpi took her first steps on the path of yoga about ten years ago, during which time she has practiced both more dynamic and gentle yoga styles from Ashtanga to Yin. A few years ago she decided to train herself as a yoga instructor and graduated as a yoga teacher from Heartful Yoga Academy.
Regular practice has given her a lot, not only as a physical but also as a mental exercise; it has given more tools to work on her own mind, compassion and gentleness towards self and others, and has brought peace and balance to everyday life. Virpi also wants to convey all of this to others in her classes.

Bettina
Bettina is a recently graduated Heartful yoga teacher and social psychologist. Everything related to the mind and well-being is close to Bettina's heart.

In her free time, it is important for her to get out into nature and living by the sea is important to her. Nature and animals have always been dear to her.

Friends describe Bettina as "enthusiastic and enthusiastic". When something ignites her, she throws herself into it. Sometimes it is yoga, sometimes crafts, sometimes cooking or traveling. Yoga teaching was one of these things that Bettina felt a strong enthusiasm and calling for.

Bettina will start teaching Awakening Saturday Yoga at our studio on Saturday mornings. For the first six weeks, the classes will be held as "trainee" classes, which makes them more affordable for clients and a less stressful way for her to step into the shoes of a yoga teacher. :)
