Our yoga activities
We are a small and cozy yoga studio in the heart of Kulosaari, where you can get teaching in small groups in various forms of yoga. Our instructors each teach in their own style, with professionalism and a genuine belief in the healing power of yoga. We welcome both beginners and more experienced yogis, and our class selection includes several different classes from calm to flowing. We also offer private and group lessons at our studio.

Saara
Yoga originally came into Saara's life over 15 years ago to bring well-being to her hectic everyday life. The yoga mat is still a place for her to relax and be in the moment.
Saara completed her first 200h yoga instructor training with Africa Yoga Project in Nairobi, Kenya in 2017 while living in East Africa. After returning to Finland, she trained as a massage therapist and founded her own company, Kipekee. In 2021, she decided to renew her own yoga practice and joined the Roots to Rise 200h instructor training.
Saara uses all the knowledge and experience she has from yoga and other areas as a teacher. As a trained massage therapist, she brings with her a wide knowledge of anatomy and movement that is good for the body. She has a background in dance and an artistic nature that enjoys creativity and the freedom to flow, which is why the classes are mainly based on Vinyasa Flow type yoga.

Maija
Maija is a mother of three from Kulosaari who graduated as a yoga teacher from Heartful Yoga Academy in 2022. Yoga has been a part of her life for almost 20 years and has been a grounding tool alongside the other hustle and bustle and changes of life and everyday life.
Maija herself likes gentle, whole-body-opening movements that focus on moving in sync with her breathing. She also uses a lot of imagery training in yoga alongside movement.
Maija is particularly inspired and calmed by nature, observing and sensing it, in her own life, and she strives to go into the wild whenever possible.
Maija feels that yoga is always a moment for self, and gives the opportunity to stop and just be without obligations and performance, thereby restoring and strengthening the connection between mind and body. The most important thing is to get to the mat, there is nothing else to think about!

Meri
Meri is a yoga instructor and practitioner who draws from her Ashtanga background, branching out into the more peaceful Yin or strengthening direction of Pilates depending on the class. She has studied Ashtanga for two decades in Helsinki and California and is still amazed at the potential deep healing qualities of the practice.
Meri also teaches postpartum and pregnancy classes for moms at various yoga studios.
She is a nurse by training and holds a master's degree in East Asian Studies, and you can often find her studying or translating various texts.
Meri has over 15 years of experience practicing zen-meditation, and some classes also allow you to try quiet meditation at the end of the class.

Virpi
Virpi took her first steps on the path of yoga about ten years ago, during which time she has practiced both more dynamic and gentle yoga styles from Ashtanga to Yin. A few years ago she decided to train herself as a yoga instructor and graduated as a yoga teacher from Heartful Yoga Academy.
Regular practice has given her a lot, not only as a physical but also as a mental exercise; it has given more tools to work on her own mind, compassion and gentleness towards self and others, and has brought peace and balance to everyday life. Virpi also wants to convey all of this to others in her classes.

Our classes
The following classes will be available in our class selection for fall 2025. We would love to hear from you if there is anything you would like to see in our class selection. We are also happy to arrange private classes and custom classes for groups.
YOGA & BALANCE K60
The purpose of this class is to increase your well-being in every way possible. The class will include yoga-based exercises that are designed to increase mobility, strengthen muscles, and release tension in the body. You may feel relaxed and generally feel better as a result.
The class is named "K60" because it is designed and targeted at those who are already a few years behind them and whose bodies need different attention to feel good. This class takes into account that our bodies may have some physical limitations and ways to modify the exercise are offered as much as needed. The class is gentle on the joints and does not include acrobatic or super-stretching yoga stuff.
The time of the class may be suitable for those who are already enjoying their retirement years, but anyone in need of gentle body care is welcome!
GENTLE FLOW YOGA
The gentle flow yoga class involves moving calmly, doing a variety of gentle opening movements, and focusing on breathing, relaxing and restoring the mind and body. The class is suitable for everyone, including those who have never done yoga but would like to try it.
FLOWING YOGA
(also available in English)
In a flowing yoga class, we do a flowing exercise in sync with our breath, which nourishes the body and calms the mind. During the class, we move in a variety of ways, opening and strengthening the body.
The class is suitable for yogis of all levels, as there are options to customize the practice so that everyone can do it, knows how to do it, and enjoys it.
The exercise is guided either in Finnish, English, or a smooth mix according to the participants.
YOGA + MEDITATION FOR STIFF BODIES
This yoga class is aimed at those who feel they are too stiff to do yoga. If even sitting on the floor feels like a challenge to you and any kind of stretching causes pain, this class is specifically for you.
The class includes light movements that help the body settle down and calm down.
At the end of the class, meditation is done, a conscious presence exercise that helps the mind relax, thereby reducing the number of cycles and promoting recovery.
GENTLE MORNING YOGA
Gentle morning yoga is a class to wake you up and open your body to a new day.
During the class we move gently to the rhythm of our breathing, calmly focusing on feeling and observing the messages from our body. By focusing on a movement that feels good in the body, we also calm the mind and are able to count the laps and thus promote recovery even after the class.
The class is open-level, meaning you don't need any previous yoga experience, but it doesn't hurt if you do. The instructor will make sure you get what you need from the class.
SOFT YIN YOGA
Soft Yin yoga leads you to a relaxed, peaceful state of mind, where the body relaxes and the mind rests.
Yin yoga is a gentler form of yoga, where you move calmly into various body-opening poses, which you hold for longer periods of time. Yin yoga is a particularly calming and restorative form of yoga.
Both first-time and more experienced yin yogis are welcome to the class.
